I would like for us to sign him to a two way contract.  I like his defense and attitude.   Thoughts ...

Yes, but as a two way player

Kadeem Allen and Wilkes are currently signed as 2 ways. I think we'd have to cut 1 to bring on Wooten. I might cut Allen just because I'm sure there are more Allens out there.

Thanks for the clarification.  I agree and would cut Allen.  We have Smith, Payton, Frank and Trier can play point.  Wooten would be the better player to keep

Don't we have to many rim protectors now!

PG! So far none have shown they can handle the job! Mario Hezonja looked really good playing point at the end of the season till he got hurt!

I’m telling you guys.

Watch Elfrid Payton. He’s more developed and further along than Frank, Kadeem or DSJ.

He’s the second coming of Rajon Rondo

We haven't had a REAL PG since CLYDE roomed the court!

It’s been years since we had a legit threat at PG. maybe Linsanity and look how Melo and Dolan screwed that up.

I would stay with Dennis Smith and if he failed try Payton, while having Frank in the G League as a later season option.  If none were worthy, we would probably lose 60 games and be in line for Cole Anthony, who I like a lot.

I like Wooton too, but I'd need to know more about a two way contracts. I know that they have to be called up for a specific amount of games. Right now with the log jam of playing time with the Knicks, it would make more sense to sign these guys to a G-League contract and give them significant playing time in the G-league.

The next step for Wooten is the camp invite. If he gets that from the Knicks they have time to make decisions.

If the Knicks think he has shown enough I hope they don't make this about a choice between the guards because there is too much uncertainty there. Instead they should focus on the small forward position, where Fizdale could play Knox, Morris, Brazdeikas, Barrett, Dotson, Ellington, Wilkes and Ntilikina. Notice I didn't say Bullock. I think they should pass based on that physical. There are so many other options at the SF to do anything else.

At the point the team is still not clear about what they have. Payton, Smith, Allen are the points with the prospect being Ntilikina. Trier is not an option at point at his time because he has a Harden in D'Antoni offense feel. Everyone else will eat his scraps while he looks for his offense. His scoring prowess is just too strong for him to consistently set up team mates at this time. That is not a bad thing. It is just a thing. Of this group, Allen is your safety net believe or not.

The funny thing is Bullock's agent just waxed poetically about how professionally the Knicks management team handled that situation. Backing out on the contract could change his perspective.

I haven't seen much of him. Whoever wins the job should play. I'm just hoping to see more kids than vets.
