If Anthony Davis decides to move on from the Pelicans, four teams reportedly stand out as where the star big man could land next: Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Sixers and Knicks.

Here's a look into Davis' thinking and future, per Chris Sheridan of Get More Sports.
A source with intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the NBA told Get More Sports that Davis is considering five teams in the near and distant future: The Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans, New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers.
The determining factor in the short term will be the level of success the Pelicans do or do not have during the first half of the upcoming 2018-19 season. If they are middle-of-the-pack or worse in the competitive Western Conference, it is more likely than not that Davis will be moved before the trading deadline.

Davis is under contract through the end of the 2019-20 season, but could be traded before free agency arrives. If it does, however, options will be present for Davis to jump from New Orleans to a true title contender.

While it's hard to imagine the Knicks profiling as anything close to that in the near future, the idea of a team with Kristaps PorzingisKevin KnoxFrank Ntilikina, a 2019 lottery pick and top free agent from the summer of 2019 (Kyrie IrvingJimmy Butler?) could be enough to turn around New York's fortunes quickly.

Davis, 25, averaged 28.1 points and 2.6 blocks per game for New Orleans last season.

I don't know how valid is the report.

We stay the course, develop Knox, Frank Trier and Robinson and everything will fall in place.

It's only a matter of time before we build a contending team again.

I think Davis joining Knicks is more possible than Durant.

Knicks shouldn't trade for any top tier player.

Fizdale stated we’re not trading for anyone. Dolan hasn’t gotten involved in any trades since Melo.

That’s a good sign.

Yep. Unless he comes as a FA...we're not getting him.

If AD already has in mind he will leave for FA then NO will trade him and ask for a fortune in return.

A truly eloquent response. Grin

We’re going to have to trade Porzingis if Durant signs or we can have him come off the bench.

LOL. Every year we go through something like this. First, it's 'no more draft pick trades.'

Then there's some stupid rumor that one star or another may want to come to the Knicks, and we start offering the kitchen sink for theoretical deals.

None of these guys really want to come here until we can be a competitive team without them. LeBron, Paul, Kyrie, Durant and now Davis. Who else you got, Berman? Harden? Westbrook? Maybe we can exhume Wilt's body.

Stop putting the cart before the horse. Just build a fucking team the traditional way first. Then worry about FAs.

Oh, well, at least these stories give me something to laugh about.

You have little faith.

As soon as we have a PG that runs the offense everyone will follow.

Frank might be that guy but I don’t think Fizz is pushing him out of his comfort zone. He has to drive when possible instead of passing at the top of the key.

Kinda sucks. I’m
Not really sure where he fits in because of his weak handles.

I do know he’s a top defending PaG when given the minutes.

Multiple reports of Davis interest in joining the Knicks.

Once ESPN reports it too, it’s confirmed.

And now Bosh is working with Knox to polish his game. Everything is falling in line as will all the NBA elite players.

Dust off the lint from the bandwagon seats.
